C’est à l’ermitage Notre-Dame que Font-Romeu doit son nom, la « fontaine du pèlerin ». Le site est mentionné dès 1324 et les bâtiments actuels datent pour l’essentiel du XVIIe siècle. Dans la chapelle, un retable doré ; à l’étage, le camaril, petite salle baroque dédiée à la Vierge, construite en 1712. Chaque 8 septembre, une procession relie l’ermitage à l’église d’Odeillo.
